I grew up in Dorset with a love for nature and a passion for art. After moving to London, I began a career in the music industry spanning two decades, working with a host of UK and international artists across most genres of music. It was an exciting but demanding role and I eventually left to raise my family and rediscover my creative interests.
Largely self-taught, I have studied life drawing, still life and oil painting. Now working in graphite and colour pencil, I continue to hone my skills in realism, inspired by other artists, past and present. Colour pencil is an excellent medium for detailed work, offering a high level of control and precision. They can be easily blended to create smooth transitions, with the ability to layer a range of colours for depth and variation.
I have always enjoyed portraiture and particularly relish the challenge of capturing a true likeness and a suggestion of character through a personal approach and focus on detail. I like to meet my subjects and take reference photographs whenever possible, especially for portraits of children. If this isn't feasible, having a range of customer's photos is key to gain a faithful idea of appearance and personality. Whether I'm drawing a toddler, a labrador or a fox, it's always rewarding to study and re-create their unique expressions, features and colouring.
I love spending time in nature and soaking up the therapeutic benefits to mind and body is a necessity for me. Fortunate to live in a pretty corner of south west London, surrounded by green spaces, the surprising breadth of flora and fauna on display is a great source of inspiration for my work. I never tire of spotting a fox slipping through the ferns, or catching the flash of a kingfisher darting along the river. I aim to highlight the abundance and beauty of wildlife that surrounds us and the many benefits that connecting with nature brings both to us and our environment,
I have a collection of wildlife drawings and limited edition prints and I'm currently working on new additions alongside commissions - follow me on instagram to see my latest work as it's released. I also take wildlife commissions if you have a favourite bird or animal you would like turned in to art.

When I'm not drawing you'll often find me walking in Richmond Park, along the river towpath or across the beautiful Dorset countryside and Jurassic coastline.
